Tor Eigeland: A Tribute

Rest in peace my friend

Renowned photojournalist Tor Eigeland, hailing from Norway, boasted a stellar career highlighted by contributions to elite publications like Time, Newsweek, Fortune, The New York Times, and National Geographic Traveler. His expertise extended to both photography and writing, with a diverse educational background from Oslo's School of Commerce, McGill University, the University of the Americas in Mexico, and the University of Miami's School of Photojournalism under the tutelage of Wilson Hicks, the esteemed former editor of Life Magazine. Fluent in multiple languages with a proficiency in Arabic, Eigeland's global residency had rendered him particularly adept at navigating the cultures of the Middle East and Hispanic regions.

I had the great honour of talking to him on my podcast and I cherish the email exchanges that I used to have with him. He was always very supportive and encouraging of my work. I feel lucky to have talked to him about his travels and experiences.

You will be missed Tor! Have a listen to the episode here.
