Hello, beautiful people. Welcome to episode 37 of photo country.
I took a wee bit of a break from the last episode due to work commitments. But I'm back with an episode with a good friend of mine, Juliano Baby. He's an award-winning photographer from Brazil, currently based in New Zealand. Landscapes, products, action. You name it, he has done it all. He used to be a professional volleyball player before his transition into photography.
I found him, funnily enough at work. Believe it or not, he is a colleague at SCG where I have my day job.
So after a lot of back and forth in between his shoots and work, we got together for an interesting chat. So here we go.
What I really like about his photography is his attention to lighting. It makes all the difference. Look at this photograph that he took of his son.
He shoots a lot of action as well. He covers a lot of Iron Man events. His action photographs freeze the action and draws you in.
He is also an accomplished aerial photographer. Not to mention the accolades he has received for it.
Juliano is an all-round photographer with his portfolio ranging from dramatic landscapes to sensual nudes.
See the light. To create anything as a videographer, as a photographer, you need light. And the thing is, if you don't have that amount of flight that you'd like, you need to know how to play with the basics.
Shutter, ISO, you know, aperture. Not just putting automatically.
